Getting off to a strong start: Discover early childhood programming across district

Early childhood programming supports building basic academic and social skills that benefit children and their parents as preparations are made for students to enter the K-12 school system.
Early Childhood Family Education( ECFE), Preschool for ages 3, 4 and 5, and more are offered along with a variety of additional programs through Anoka-Hennepin Community Education. Tuition for many programs is based on income and family size to maximize opportunities for participation. Programs offer flexible options including attendance on certain days of the week and during morning or afternoon hours.

Both a preschool classroom and an Early Childhood Family Education( ECFE) classroom for engaging parent and child activities.
Anoka Preschool and Family Place Educational Service Center 2727 N. Ferry Street Anoka, MN 55303
Four classrooms, a gym, an outdoor playground and is home to both ECFE and preschool classes, programs, and activities.
Blaine Early Childhood Center 13001 Central Ave NE Blaine, MN 55434
The newest of the district’ s early learning locations offering preschool and ECFE programming is the Blaine Early Childhood Center provides early childhood services to residents on the east side of the district. The building opened its doors to families at the beginning of the 2023-24 school year. The Blaine Early Childhood Center features a large ECFE room, numerous preschool classrooms and space for early childhood screenings.
The youngest learners in the community have a wide range of high-quality early childhood programs available at a location close to home through Anoka-Hennepin Schools. Offered by Anoka-Hennepin Community Education, programming is offered at each of the six unique early childhood locations and preschool classes at schools across the district featuring something special, from nurturing learning environments and experienced educators to flexible programming designed to support every child’ s growth and development.

EARLY LEARNING PROGRAM LOCATIONS:
Coon Rapids Preschool and Family Place 11254 Crooked Lake Blvd. NW Coon Rapids, MN 55433
For more than 20 years, this site has offered caregivers and their littlest learners a place to develop, grow and play. The Coon Rapids site offers preschool and two ECFE classrooms. One of the rooms provides a dedicated space for children two and under in age-specific classes. There is a gym with a large dome climber, a musical wall and other motor activities for all ages to explore.

Three classrooms, a gym, and an outdoor playground with its own greenhouse and gardens where children can plant, water, weed, and harvest fruits and vegetables.
Sorteberg Early Childhood Center 11400 Magnolia St. NW Coon Rapids, MN 55448
This site has welcomed families for over half a century – first as an elementary school and now as an early childhood center. Families benefit from two gym spaces, two playgrounds and an outdoor classroom. There are multiple programs housed here including Early Childhood Family Education( ECFE), seven preschool classrooms, and early childhood screening.

Adult learning
Watch for a new catalog with fall classes coming at the end of July! No matter what your interest or skill level, Community Education offers hundreds of year-round classes for adults ages 18 and up. Adults with disabilities
Specialized classes offer educational, recreational and social activities for adults with developmental disabilities to practice life skills and to increase independence, communication and community integration. Call 763-506-1290 with questions.

Early learners
Educational and enrichment classes are available for families with young children ages birth to kindergarten. Early Childhood Family Education( ECFE) classes give children the chance to build school readiness skills while parents discuss ways to help their children become confident, independent learners. Youth enrichment
The Community Schools program coordinates a wide variety of fun classes and activities to enhance your child’ s academic and social experiences afterschool, in the evening, and over the summer. Opportunities for students in preschool through grade eight include arts and crafts; science, technology, engineering and math( STEM) classes; language and performing arts; sports and recreation; and swimming.
