One generation knows Alan Page as an NFL Hall of Famer . Another respects his service as Justice of the Minnesota Supreme Court .
But many of today ’ s young people know him as founder of the Page Education Foundation , an entity he created as a means of encouraging Minnesota ’ s students of color to pursue further education — and to return that encouragement to other young people .

During his years as a Page Scholar ( 2010-2013 ) Ismail tutored elementary school-aged children , worked with boys in middle and high school programs and “ became even more passionate about pursuing a career as an educator ,” he said .
The Anoka grad said after hearing about the Page Education Foundation during his junior year of high school , he eagerly applied for the Page Grant “ because it focused on giving high school students that look like me aid to further their education .”
Part of the application process involved describing why he felt education is so important .
After stating that his “ efforts to expand my education will not only benefit me , but also students of the future ,” Ismail said he believes that education is a “ core value with limitless potential . Also with a reflective nature it becomes a continuous tradition of how we spread our knowledge .”
Anoka-Hennepin Associate Superintendent Jeffrey McGonigal reports that Page Scholars in the
