Tai O is an old fishing village on Lan Tau Island with a long history. Dating back to the Sung Dynastry around one thousand years ago, salt production was the major industry in this small village. It has been the most flourishing port of the Pearl River in the past one hunderd years.

On a beautiful day with sunshine, Tai O is a quiet and peaceful place under the clean, blue sky. The iron houses are mostly built near sea water with wooden poles supporting them. On the other side of the pathway, there are houses with lovely flowers planted in the yard. Additionally, the people who live there are very nice. They are very happy to talk with visitors and introduce the popular places to go to in Tai O, such as the Kwan Tai Temple, Yeung Hau Temple, and Tai O Market. You can also buy some local souvenirs in the small shops.

If you come here and plan to enjoy the whole day, you can’ t miss the delicious food in Tai O. Because the village is located by the sea,
