• What are the main responsibilities of this
department? This department is responsible for the
commercial aspect of Meeting Point Malta. We buy
hotel rooms from local hotels and resell them to other
clients, who in turn place them on the market for the end
consumer to acquire. This department also serves as the
bridge between the foreign tour operators and the local
hotels.
• What are the main functions of the department?
The main functions of this department are purchasing
hotel rooms from local hotels (where contracts are
renewed twice a year covering both winter and summer
season), loading the data on the clients’ portals (so that the
product could be booked online), monitoring the market to
identify any price changes which may come to a
disadvantage to us, and finally ensuring that our
clients have the best conditions (to sell them as easily as
possible).
• What are the top job skills needed to form part of this
department? The job skills needed are, Negotiation,
since you need to get the best deals and prices possible,
Organised, as one must be up to date with current
market offers, Proactive, as we need to know about any
issues before the clients know, Analytical, as we are
constantly analysing data, and Customer Oriented, since
the client must always be given priority.
