Financial Update

As a local government entity , the Park District relies on a balanced revenue model , with half of our revenue coming from taxpayers and the other half from user fees , grants , and other sources . This balanced approach allows us to provide outstanding community amenities and high-quality recreational programs enjoyed by all residents .
The recently approved annual budget for the 2024 / 2025 fiscal year , beginning on May 1 , 2024 , totals $ 45,800,556 , reflecting an 11.6 % increase from last year ’ s expenditures . This increase is primarily due to planned capital expenditures and the rising costs of expanding our programming . The budget projects total revenue of $ 46,853,315 , covering total expenses and resulting in a $ 1,052,759 increase in reserves .
The Park District offers a variety of community amenities , many of which are free and open to the public , including general visits to The Grove , Wagner Farm , and all our parks , playgrounds , open spaces , and natural areas .
