4 THE RAMBLINGS OF THE RIDE CO-ORDINATOR G’Day Ladies, Gentlemen and Others, Now is the winter of discontent. We must ask ourselves whether tis nobler to stand up the slings and flurries of the Snowy Mountains or to boldly seize our fates and stick to the golden beaches and hills of the coast and hinterland. After our sojourn to Orbost via Delegate on a fairly mild Autumnal day, I think the coast is the go. I may consider a mid-winter run to Adaminiby for the foolhardy amongst us. Any comments would be appreciated. Speaking of Orbost, the numbers were a bit on the light side. But, they were 50% up on our last trip, which in its turn was a 100% increase on my first attempt to start a ride from Delegate. I will take that as a win. The turnout at “HoWeRoll” (nee Sea Whispers) has been less than I had hoped. However, I have heard very little complaint, so maybe it just the AGM and various other activities. I hope that no one is still going to the Bega Cheese Factory and are wondering where the hell everyone else is! On a personal note, I have moved into my new digs. Not quite settled yet. I do have to sortt through the detritus of 38 years of living the life of a nomad and that takes time. My heartfelt thanks go to Bev, Julie, James, Rob, Rob and Ross. Your efforts made the whole task doable and relatively painless. THANK YOU ALL! Upcoming Rides do include: Sun, 8 Jun – Fish & Chips in Narooma ,*I know this is the wrong Sunday, but it gives us a better spread of rides.* Wed 11 Jun – Blue Heron in Moruya, Sat, 21 Jun – Lunch in Bombala and Wed, 25 Jun – Candelo for Lunch (venue TBA). Candelo has a hard time of late. I think we should go and try a venue there, if any still exist. I believe that there is a club or two and a pub. Let the members decide. Keep the shiny side up!
