The second day of the training started with the presentation of Central Securities Depository. CSD representative Mona Duminica, Strategy, Development and Communication Director, presented Role and operations of CSD - Clearing, settlement, registry, post-trade services.She highlighted the vital role of Central Depository in ensuring efficient clearing, settlement, and registry services in Romania, emphasizing its modernization efforts, European integration, and upcoming strategic projects like T+1 settlement and cross-border links.
The second discussion of the day was Trading Infrastructure - Systems and Services.
First presenter was Amalia Oana, Programmer, Development and Administration of IT Platforms Department. She talkes about Arena - Automated Exchange Platform and presented the trading system of Bucharest Stock Exchange. She presented the evolution and architecture of BVB’s ARENA trading system, emphasizing its speed, resilience, and upcoming enhancements like AI-driven monitoring, low-latency infrastructure, and improved user experience.
Her speech was followed by Paul Serafim, Development and Administation of IT Platforms Department. The topic of his speech was Arena - XT - Integral Brokerage System and OnLine Trading Platform, which is developed by BVB to standardize, modernize, and digitalize access to Romania’s capital markets through advanced tools for brokers and investors across web and mobile.
Stefan Nanescu, Head of Information System Administration Department, continued the topic by talking about the technological infrastructure of the Bucharest Stock Exchange. He highlighted the evolution and critical role of BVB’s ICT infrastructure, emphasizing its high-speed, secure systems, integration of AI, and compliance with EU DORA to ensure seamless, resilient, and efficient market operations.
