11th FEAS Onsite Training took place on June 11-13, 2024, in Yerevan, Armenia. Hosted by Armenia Securities Exchange (AMX) and Central Depository of Armenia (CDA), the event welcomed 17 participants from 11 FEAS Members across 7 countries.
Participants were selected through a rigorous process considering work experience, organizational roles, English proficiency, and interview results, with the outcomes shared among all FEAS members.
The 3-day program featured 18 topics, offering an in-depth understanding of Armenia's capital markets. On-site sessions at the Central Bank of Armenia and Money Museum (CBA Visitor Center) provided real-world insights. 20 distinguished presenters shared their expertise, covering various aspects of capital markets.
Here's a glimpse of what they covered: Ani Makaryan, AMX General Counsel and Management Board Member, welcomed the participants and shared more detailed overview of the capital market of Armenia and about the key historical facts of AMX and CDA. She briefly introduced Group’s shareholding structure, financial instruments and services as well as main revenue streams and forecasts.
Levon Klekchyan, CDA Chief Depository Services Officer and Deputy CEO, continued the presentation and shared more details about the CDA Structure and technologies that are being used such as AMPIS for pension system, Depend by PERCIVAL, AMXTrader Software, gp.minfin.am and CDA-Online app. He also highlighted some nep projects that are expected to be accomplished in upcoming years.
Dr. Konstantin Saroyan, FEAS Secretary General, delivered a special session about Corporate Governance (CG) at capital markets bringing more attention to: benefits of good corporate governance, CG framework development models, enforcing mechanisms of CG codes.
He stated the importance of the regulators of CG, custodians of CG codes, CG requirements at exchanges and CG surveillance for listed companies including CG assessment tools methodology for listed companies. Grzegorz Kucharski, AMX Management Board Member, introduced the cooperation of Warsaw Stock Exchange and AMX Group as its major shareholder.
