LEADERSHIP

MESSAGE

Dear shareholders ,
On behalf of the management team at the Ounalashka Corporation I ’ d like to extend our best wishes and hopes for a great 2022 . We are preparing for this new and exciting year by adding positions and new staff to our ranks to help us take your corporation into the future successfully and profitably . As you see open positions , we encourage you to apply .
In some cases , these jobs are brand new to OC , such as those positions related to the new 8 ( a ) venture OC Environmental , LLC . Other jobs have always been on the organizational chart but have recently opened , such as in Shareholder Affairs and in the Maintenance department .
We have some other organizational announcements to make that have taken place at year end with OC ’ s upper management team . First the Board of Directors has created a President ’ s position to oversee the Unalaska operations of OC . The President position is currently being filled on an interim basis by Leasing and Property Manager Denise Rankin . The position is currently open for applications , and we encourage all Shareholders to review that job opening and call us with any questions .
In addition to the new President OC will now have a Chief Financial Officer . The Board appointed me to fill that role , amending my contract for a change of title and responsibilities from CEO to CFO . OC is growing , and now in addition to our leasing operations we are involved in the geothermal industry as well as 8 ( a ) contracting . As more is added to our scope of business , more depth in all departments will be needed , as you can see with the additional jobs coming open . The finance and accounting department is no exception , and I am excited to return to build a department that can take OC into the next decade . Everyone , Board , Staff and Shareholders did a great job during the seven years I served as your CEO and I thank you all for your trust and support .
The CEO position is being filled on an interim basis by Natalie Cale . Natalie is a dynamic individual we have been lucky to work with for nearly 20 years . Natalie has been instrumental in OC ’ s success , as has her counterpart interim President Denise Rankin . Natalie has worked all this time as OC ’ s general counsel , and besides being OC ’ s representative in all things legal , she has also played a key role in leasing and operations support , not to mention authoring the Ounalashka Settlement Trust document . The job of the CEO will be to oversee business development and all business operations other than those of leasing and operations in Unalaska . Besides the interim CEO job and General Counsel , Natalie is also OC ’ s Chief Operating Officer and heads up the 8 ( a ) operations , currently made up of OC Environmental , LLC , an environmental remediation company .
With this change in organizational structure , it is most important to remember that OC is retaining over 60 years of institutional knowledge between Natalie , Denise and myself , and we have now spread that expertise in a way that casts a broader web over the entire scope of OC business , whether that is found in Unalaska , outside of Unalaska and in new business opportunities , and in the interest of fiduciary responsibility . With this consistency we are building a structure that will remain solid throughout the next many years and changes in personnel . We are building a stronger company for the future . We will do our best to maintain the revenue sources that have been the basis for those distributions as well as find new sources of revenues to sustain our Shareholders for years to come .
Sincerely ,
Christopher P . Salts , Sr . CFO
