PARK DISTRICT EARNS CAPRA ACCREDITATION

The Glenview Park District joins the ranks of elite park and recreation agencies across the country by earning accreditation through the Commission for

PARK AND RECREATION AGENCIES
Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies ( CAPRA ) and the National Recreation and Park Association ( NRPA ). This distinguished accomplishment was awarded during the October 2023 NRPA Annual Conference in Dallas .
CAPRA accreditation is the only national accreditation for park and recreation agencies and is a measure of an agency ’ s overall quality of operations , management and service to the community . This mark of distinction indicates that an agency has met rigorous standards related to the management and administration of lands , facilities , resources , programs , safety and services .
We are honored to be recognized as one of only 205 park and recreation agencies who hold CAPRA accreditation nationwide and one of only nine agencies in Illinois .”

GROVE HERITAGE ASSOCIATION RECOGNIZED WITH IAPD PARTNERSHIP AWARD

The Grove Heritage Association ( GHA ) and the Glenview Park District were awarded with the Illinois Association of Park Districts ’ Best of the Best Partnership Award at a ceremony in October 2023 . The Partnership Award recognizes non-governmental organizations that have collaborated with a public agency to initiate projects that enhance residents ’ quality of life . The Grove Heritage Association has partnered with the Park District for over fifty years to help protect and expand the ecological , historical and educational value of The Grove , a National Historic Landmark . Most recently , the GHA commissioned a bronze sculpture of the late explorer and naturalist Robert Kennicott , circa 1860 , for all visitors of The Grove to enjoy .

COMMISSIONERS RECOGNIZED

Commissioners Bill Casey and Dave Tosh ( above right ) were also recognized for 20 and 10 years of service , respectively , on the Park Board .
