The only Museum dedicated to the Romanian language is in Cluj . Founded in 1919 at the initiative of Sextil Pușcariu , a great philologist , linguist and the first rector of the University of Cluj , the Museum of the Romanian Language was reorganised in 1949 , when it was transformed , following the restructuring of academic scientific research , into the Institute of Linguistics and Literary History .
