we were shy, we just stood there with awkward
expressions. She tried to make us stand closer to
each other, to pose like we were talking to each
other. Mr. Rabbit and I became good at posing
for photos afterwards. We went to many places,
we were in a lot of pictures, and Mr. Rabbit start-
ed to ask his question “where are we?” again.
But I was still worried that we would be aban-
doned again, We started to like her, and we start-
ed to rely on her. ner and for the first time I took a flight. She made
us sit on the table. I looked out of the window––
the sky was so close, like I could touch it. She
took pictures for us as usual. It was going to be
a long flight, but she looked happy to go home.
Mr. Rabbit and I were happy too.
She was different. She talked to us, she greeted
us in the morning, she told her secrets to us, and
sometimes she gossiped as well. The good thing
was, she gave us meaning. I no longer felt that
we were just a pair of decorations. We accompa-
nied her, and she accompanied us. But we are indeed surrounded by darkness and
shining stars, or at least something shining like
stars. All the lights are on. We seem to stand in a
high place. Out of this window, there are many
skyscrapers. I try to count the floors of a beauti-
ful building, one, two, three……I cannot count
after 30, there are too much for me!
“Where are we?” Mr. Rabbit asks later.
“In the middle of the milky way,” I respond. Ac-
tually, I have no idea.
Although we had been together for a few months,
I still felt a little insecure. All the places we went, “I think we are at home,” Mr. Rabbit says.
they were beautiful, they were nice, but they
were full of tourists. She was a tourist. One day
she would leave, how long could we spend the
time with each other?
One day she said, “I am going home, it is in an-
other continent. You guys should try some real
Chinese food! Do you guys want to go with
me?” Mr. Rabbit was thrilled, because he always
wanted to have adventures.
Linda is a student from
the Language Studies
programme. She enjoys
reading and traveling.
So we decided to go home with her.
She put us in her handbag, and I heard the sound
of a crowd. We went through the security scan-
