I and my team members , Narasimha and Chaitra attended a One day hands on workshop on “Business analysis” on 6th July,2019, held at DERBI Foundation,Bangalore
The Workshop was organized by CSI – Bangalore chapter and the session was carried out by Mr. Suresh Thiagarajan.
Mr. Suresh Thiagarajan is a professional with 30+ years of multi domain experience cutting across aerospace, automotive, IT/Software and service organization.
In the morning session, sir explained about the business analysis that it is about identifying business needs and determining solutions to business problems. In the session we were taught to observe the needs of the company and also ensure that we fulfill the needs of the customers by using Business Skill set. He explained the term goal in business analysis as goal is a quantification of needs.
In the Afternoon session, we were asked to choose a business idea. We chose attendance through face recognition as the idea. Sir, then raised various questions on our project for which he gave a few minutes for us to think about the answer to questions. Questions were such as who are your customers, and will it be better than the existing system. We were then taught to do the mind map on that idea. Mind mapping is a good mechanism to ensure verification of requirements and we can also do mind map using a software called free mind.
The session concluded with the Brain storming where we were given a problem statement and we were given three minutes to generate solution for the given problem. By these we where able to generate various innovative ideas on the given problem.
