Spotlight This Month’s Spotlight: Library Bookmark Contest    Every  year,  the  Massachusetts  Association  of  School  Librarians  (MSLA)   sponsors   a   bookmark   design   contest   for   students   in   Massachusetts   schools   with   certified   libraries.   Each   year’s   contest   is   framed   around   a   different   library-‐centric   theme.   This   year's   theme   was   "School   Libraries:   Something  for  Everyone."       The   four   entry   divisions   are   divided   according   to   the   grades   of   students   competing;   students   at   the   high   school   level   compete   in   division   IV,   grades   7-‐12.   At   this   level,   students   are   allowed   to   submit   hand-‐drawn   OR   digital   art   entries.   As   a   school,   WRHS   is   allowed   to   submit   three   entries   for   consideration   in   the   contest.   This   year,   as   all   the   local   entries   from   WRHS  were  composed  digitally,  Mrs.  Farricker  and  Mrs.  Stern  selected  the   three  bookmarks  to  submit  for  competition  at  the  state  level.     With   that   in   mind,   we   are   pleased   to   recognize   the   2014   WRHS   library   bookmark  contest  winners  Jasmine  Kophengnavong  Kathryn  Shea,  and   Caroline   Smith,   our   top-‐three   entrants   submitted   to   the   statewide   MSLA   bookmark   contest.   The   statewide   contest   was   judged   at   the   MSLA   annual   meeting  in  March.  While  a  WRHS  student  did  not  take  home  the  top  prize,   Kathrynn Shea, we  were  thrilled  to  put  forward  such  high-‐quality  entries.  Congratulations,   grade 11 Jasmine,  Kathryn,  and  Caroline!       If  you  are  interested  in  competing  in   the   2015   contest,   check   for   announcements   from   the   WRHS   LMC   next   winter.   We   will   have   more   information   about   the   2015   Jasmine Kophengnavong, MSLA  bookmark  contest  when  it   grade 10 Caroline Smith, grade 9   becomes  available!         Remember!                       Library Media Center Policies Did you know?
