Dating back to the 1800’s when mining was the main trade in Cornwall, this is when the Cornish pasty was invented. It is said that the crimping down the side was where the miners held the pasty when eating it and then they would discard the crimp so that anything on their hands, sometimes arsenic did not touch their mouths - now days though the whole lot is devoured! MORRIS PASTIES The Cornish pasty is world famous and many people come from all over wanting to try the famous pasty. There are many fine pasty shops in town but make sure you visit Morris Pasties on Gover Lane for one of the finest pasties around!
