13 RAINY DAYS Rainydays Sometimes the Sun doesn’t shine and on those rainy or overcast days Newquay still has plenty to offer. Indoor attractions like the fun and informative Blue Reef aquarium and the entertaining pirate performers at Pirates Quest are ideal for all ages. Flambards is a great place to escape the rain with their Victorian Village and Britain in the Blitz, indoor arenas and soft play you can spend the whole day avoiding getting wet. In Newquay there are two water parks, Oasis and Waterworld, with their flumes and child pools get you wet the fun way. Nearby attractions such as Dairyland Crealy’s Adventure Centre’s Dragon Kingdom & Crocodile Corner, and Springfield’s Fun Park & Pony centre’s Indoor Barn are fun, rain or shine. The brand new, Cornwall Aviation Heritage Centre has a selection of cold war aircraft, from transport to fighters, are based at their large hangar near the Airport. They also offer scenic flights that are not necessarily weather dependent. Ten pin bowling is always a favourite and Newquay has two, four lane, bowling alleys. Newquay’s modern Lighthouse Cinema features the latest movies, including 3D screenings. They also have live events, including Royal Shakespeare Company performances projected on their digital screens from other locations.
