In 2015, the City of Newport moved forward on an update to the City’s
Comprehensive Land Use Plan. This document represents the first components
of the new Plan for review and input.

This preliminary draft contains parts of the overall Comprehensive Plan Update.
Chapter 1 and 2. Complete drafts of these sections are included in this
document.
Chapters 3 through 14. These are the elements that make up the Plan.
These Chapters have two key parts: existing conditions and policy. This
document contains just the existing conditions section for each
element. The policy components will be released at the end of March
2016 for a separate review.
Chapter 15. This will be released at the end of March with the policy
components.
Chapter 16. Complete draft of the Glossary is included in this
document.
