Centre of attention
From its dramatic entry to art gallery-like atrium and dedicated interior spaces,
the Aorangi Specialist Centre benefits from Resene paints and surfaces
Broadway Radiology’s new landmark
Palmerston North building is the result of
a close collaboration between Pak Design
and McIntosh Moorman Interior Design.
A selection of Resene products played a
part in the look of the stand-out facility.
A highlight of the centre is the atrium
which flows from the feature, leaf-shaped
entrance. MMiD wanted to ensure the
entry leaf shape was highlighted so Resene
Bokara Grey was used on the surrounding
ceiling areas and the wood was brought to
life using a system of Resene Colorwood
Walnut, Resene Colorwood Reducing Base
and Resene Aquaclear satin.
Resene Black White was chosen for its
natural background to accentuate the hues
and textures MMiD wanted in the project.
To bring warmth to areas that might
otherwise seem cold, Resene Cest La Vie,
Resene Coconut Cream, Resene Emerge and
Resene Secrets were chosen, while Resene
Moxie was used in staff areas to bring in
local rugby colours for fun and patriotism.
To add accents to the calligraphic style
art in patient waiting areas, Resene Good
Life and Resene Native were specified.
Outside, Resene Woodsman Banjul
stain was used on the cedar weatherboards
while Resene Lumbersider in Resene Half
Friar Grey balances out the exterior hues.
