Lorraine Lambiase and Sheila Flanagan founded Nettle Meadow Farm to dedicate their lives to their twin passions: animal farming and the production of artisanal cheese. The farm, situated in Thurman, just below Crane Mountain and between Gore Mountain and Warrensburg, is home to more than 300 goats and dozens of sheep, along with guard lamas, chickens, ducks and a collection of retired and rescued farm animals. More than 100 goats are milking at any time; the animals are housed in eight buildings, including a restored 1903 barn.
