I work in Sunset Park, and moved to Fort Greene,
Brooklyn, two years ago, after eight years in Lower Manhattan. I love Brooklyn’ s neighborhood feel, which is something you don’ t have in Manhattan. I love the diversity of Brooklyn’ s people and neighborhoods. I discover something new every day.
“ My favorite places near home are restaurants Madiba, Karasu and Romans, and this little cocktail bar, Dick & Jane’ s. In Williamsburg and Greenpoint I’ ve found my favorite coffee shops: Toby’ s Estate, Devocion and Budin. For a beer, I love Torst in Greenpoint.
“ In Manhattan, I spend most of my time below 23rd Street or above 110th Street. Two favorite places are Odeon in Tribeca and Red Rooster in Harlem. In summertime I like outdoor spots with rooftops or patios— The Frying Pan( floating lighthouse bar), Pera Soho, Northern Territory, the Ear Inn, Catch— or Prospect Park, Central Park and Washington Square Park, or just walking around the city.
“ I’ m starting to show people more of Brooklyn because there’ s so much to see; however, Manhattan is still the key destination for visitors. I love to show them Harlem, the Lower East Side and the East Village, and it’ s hard to avoid Soho or the Meatpacking District, including the High Line. I
