Reviews of Sponge City in China

Sponge city construction has become a hot topic both for governments and academia in China after it was presented and encouraged by the authority in 2014 . Sponge city is similar to the WSUD ( Water Sustainable Urban Design ) of Australia and ABC ( Active Beautiful Clean ) of Singapore that they all aim to guide the urban water management with a top-level strategy , coordinating the relationship between the multi-water cycle , land use and the rainwater system to enhance urban sustainability with a perspective of urban planning and urban design ( Figure 1 ). It involves the integration of different scales of green water infrastructures , which expand the strategy of low Impact Development ( LID ).
