The new contract states that a new teacher must first work 90 days and will only acquire the EBP the following year. This complication questions the teachers right to have access to the mental health resources (like medication or counselling) they need. Throughout this magazine, I will attempt to expose the impacts of this modification on the lives of potential teacher candidates (TC's), as they enter to become both Occasional Teacher's (OT's) and Long Term Occasional Teachers (LTO). Through speaking with soon-to-be graduates of the Ontario education program I will be able to gain an insight on the effects of this unionized collective agreement. After collecting the data, I hope bring light to the issue. I know that knowledge is powerful, and will create knowledgeable communities of teachers who can fight until more are made aware of the issue.
