Letter from the Mayor
Welcome to the City of New Richmond!
Whether you are a long-time resident, business owner, or are new to our area, we welcome you to our community! Beyond the bricks and mortar, streets and open spaces, the City of New Richmond is made up of inspiring natural areas, amazing schools, eclectic businesses, and community members who support the common good. Let us tell you more about ourselves!
New Richmond is a great place to call home. The School District of New Richmond has a state-of-the-art educational system, and St. Mary ' s parochial school also offers K-8 education in an impressive education center. We are very proud of the job our schools do in educating our children. New Richmond is also home to Northwood Technical College, one of the top community colleges in the nation offering a variety of two-year, career-oriented courses of study. New Richmond is very fortunate to be a regional hub for high-quality health care. Westfield ' s Hospital & Clinic and the state of the art Cancer Center of Western Wisconsin operate out of an expanded and remodeled healthcare campus, and take an active role in improving the health and well-being of our community. Our beautiful parks and trails system has something to offer to outdoor recreation enthusiasts of all ages, with more than 225 acres of active and passive parkland and 18 miles of trails.
New Richmond has a thriving business climate. New Richmond is conveniently located just 40 miles east of the Twin Cities, and has seen an influx of new commercial and medium-sized industrial businesses in recent years. Our Business and Technical Park is home to Phillips- Medisize Corporation, St. Croix Press,
Syntegon Packaging Technology, Isometric Micro Molding, Inc., Federal Foam Technologies, and Lift Bridge Brewing and Hudson Physicians just to name a few. The New Richmond Regional Airport, one of the fastest growing airports in the Midwest, is home to many aviation related businesses and several business aircraft. The Regional Airport has 262 planes based in New Richmond which is the most in Wisconsin. Our historic downtown is home to many entrepreneurs and is a great place to shop for unique gifts, dine, and socialize. We are building a new 30 thousand square foot library starting in September and opening late next year. The New Richmond Area Chamber of Commerce does a terrific job organizing business and community events throughout the year.
Our new population estimate from the state is 11,050. The New Richmond community has very strong character. While we value our rich and progressive history and cultural heritage, which you can experience by seeing the beautiful West Side Historic District homes or visiting the New Richmond Heritage Center, it ' s the intangible traits of citizen involvement and volunteerism, a strong work ethic, and kindness and care for one another that makes New Richmond so very special.
Whether you live, work, or play here, New Richmond has something to offer everyone. Come grow with us!
