When Altrok started doing radio
(instead of just blogging) in 2003,
the arc of Fountains Of Wayne was
pretty well represented on Alter-
native radio, but looking over my
playlists, they came up on our third
show in May ‘03, and that song
was “Denise”. It wasn’t til show
8 (June 30, 2003) that we got
around to playing “Stacy’s Mom”
(as Jeff Raspe’s Underground
Pick of the Week.) So when I first
played “Denise,” I’m pretty sure it
was a “Jeez, these guys are good,
hope they’ve got something new
coming out.”...little did we know.
