There will likely be something from the Hall & Oates catalog, but done in a different or reimagined way. Some songs like “Maneater” are performed in their original framework. For “Maneater”, that means bringing it back to its reggae origins. “There’s a bunch of stuff that we do and we have a lot of fun with it,” said Oates. “I tell a lot of stories and give context for some of the songs. Even if people aren’t familiar with the song, it helps them hear it in a different way and seems to work well. In the early days of my solo shows I would do a lot more Hall & Oates songs because I felt that people kind of expected it, but now I’m realizing that they don’t expect it anymore.
