is getting to work with her own two children, Jonathan and Emma Schwartz. For six years, Jonathan played the title role but he has since gone on to Broadway fame in Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark and Aladdin. He even ran The Amazing Race on CBS’s hit reality show. Emma, a high school senior, is a relative newcomer to Joseph, having just joined the ranks last season. The title role was originated by Timothy Gleason in 1995. Gleason later went on to play Raoul in Broadway’s longest running musical The Phantom of the Opera. He was succeeded as Joseph by Billy Piscopo, who played the role the longest, donning the colorful coat for nine years. This past summer Piscopo returned to PIP and Andrew Lloyd Webber playing quite a different Joseph – Joe Gillis in Sunset Boulevard. After Schwartz’s six seasons in the spotlight, another PIP veteran, Ben Rosenbach, assumed the role. This year, back for his second star turn as Jacob’s favorite son, is Michael Ferlita. Ferlita is the recipient of Paper Mill Playhouse’s coveted Rising Star Award for the dual role of Jekyll and Hyde. Returning to play key supporting roles are character actors Jack Cibrian as Jacob (ten years) and Art Neill as an Elvisinspired Pharaoh (seven years). OUR ADS GET RESULTS!
