The programme led by the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and supported by Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Eczacıbaşı Holding, Limak Holding and UN World Food Programme (WFP), is looking forward to the participation of those social entrepreneurs, impact investors and related institutions and establishments interested in Sustainable Development Goals to the Demo Day.

The impact accelerating programme process that commenced with 27 teams from 14 countries continues with 9 teams who want to use the technology they have advanced for the benefit of refugees and disadvantaged groups in Turkey.

Nine teams which participate in the “accelerator” stage and 4 observer teams attended field visits organised by WFP, UNDP and Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 20-23 August. Sixteen entrepreneurs from 13 teams observed the needs of refugees and disadvantaged groups in the field by making various visits in Istanbul, Bozüyük and Gaziantep, conducted meetings with representatives of charities and international NGOs; met with officials from state institutions, UN Agencies and experts of SDG Impact Accelerator in Ankara.

The entrepreneurs who developed proposals to make a pilot project in Turkey for the needs they had observed in the field are going to present their proposals in the SDG Impact Accelerator Demo Day which will be held in Istanbul on 13 September and in the coming months they will be supported by the programme to put their ideas into action.

The two start-ups that will be on stage on the Demo Day will get the chance to attend the United Nations SDG Summit which will be held in New York on 24-25 September.

We look forward to your participation to the SDG Impact Accelerator Demo Day at Joint Idea Kanyon on 13 September to be closely acquainted with the teams of the SDG Impact Accelerator programme, which work with the principle of leaving no one behind.
