Being implemented since 2015 in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Ministry of Family and Social Policies and Limak Foundation, Turkey’s Engineer Girls Project (TEG) received five awards in the Stevie and IPRA award ceremonies held in London and Barcelona respectively.

TEG was awarded Silver Stevies in the categories “Best Social Responsibility Project in Europe”, “Communications and Public Relations Campaign of the Year - Public Service”, and “Communications or PR Campaign of the Year - Global Issues” in the 2018 International Business Awards held the 15th time this year for which 3,900 applications from 74 countries were evaluated. TEG also earned the gold medal in the category of “Corporate Social Responsibility” in the Golden World Awards this year, a prestigious public relations award in the world given by the International Public Relations Association (IPRA) to best public relations practices at international standards.

The project is comprised of two programmes, namely one for girls in high school and other for those in university. It provides scholarships, mentorship, internship to girls studying in departments of electrics-electronics, industrial, civil, mechanical, computer and environmental engineering in state universities also encourages the students engaged in the project to assume social responsibility missions.

For high school students, training and awareness-raising activities are carried out every year in 10 provinces to inform high school girls around Turkey to learn about the profession of engineering and what opportunities they may have should they select it.

Turkey’s Engineer Girls Project consists of a university scholarship programme, awareness-raising activities for high-schoolers, and gender mainstreaming in the business world.
