Samke Ngwenya - The Money Doctor

This interview was undoubtedly very different from the others. The Fundbabies team met with Samke at a lovely restaurant in Melrose Arch. Samke treated us to some chocolate cake and yummy Oreo milkshakes (because we’re 4year olds at heart J). The interview was so full of beautiful parallels. The backdrop of the interview was spectacular: a 1960s New York theme with slight hints of the Kennedy’s and the beautiful Marilyn Monroe. Not that classless Pin-up fad nonsense either, more like a warm escape from peak New York winter – with beautifully varnished wooden and marble bars, modern lighting, old pictures and modern seating… Absolutely beautiful and intellectually crafted space.

In this way, Samke Ngwenya is a classically beautiful, intelligent woman who has a modern youthful exuberance. Samke calls herself the Money Doctor. In her capacity as a personal banker (that’s the “technical term”) for a big reputable bank she is in a position to help people “make their money healthy”. She got into this career because she saw her husband do it and it looked like so much fun. She loves her job and she loves to see her clients grow financially.

She recalls an email by a client, subject: Skoro-koro. This particular client was asking Samke whether or not they should purchase a car. This was significant because the client had involved Samke in the decision making process which meant that Samke had proven herself to be trustworthy to her clients. It takes a lot for a person to ask questions like “can I?” or “should I?” from an external party.
