I speak to many people who have started their own businesses. I have, however, never met an entrepreneur with this much class and this much style. Emile Dlamini was born in Escort. He studied in Durban and began his career as a designer and buyer in the retail sector. He has a rich background in fashion and design.
Emile's decision to have his own grooming parlour was as a result of a hilarious scenario that he painted for me. He was rushing to a wedding and desperately needed to get a clean cut and shave. There were hundreds of hair salons for black women all around but nothing that catered to him and put his needs first. He found himself in the chair of a street-barber. Half way through his hair cut someone yelled "METRO!" and they all took off running. He was left half shaven in the middle of the street.
This led to a desire to open a men's barber shop. But in typical Emile style, it wouldn't be an ordinary place. It had to be a luxury men's grooming parlour. It was the first of its kind in this vicinity. Let me tell you, this place is pure LUXURY.
