RAISING CONSCIOUS KIDS
Instead of telling children that it isn’t nice to lie and
forbidding it as a rule for them to follow, I show
them what a lie looks and feels like. The responses are fantastic. When one little four year old boy
held the lie ball after denying he had eaten some
chocolate pudding (and it was all over his face), he
immediately shared, “Oh, I feel that in my stomach
when I lie. Like the other day when my Mom cooked
something and asked me if I liked it when she gave
me a bite. It was in my mouth and I said, “yes” that
I did like it. But I went to the bathroom and spit it in
the toilet.” He then proceeded to share several other lies he had told. It was an inspirational experience, learning about lying. He learned for himsel f,
knew where he felt it in his body and what it was
doing to himself. Yes, reinforcement is essential
with lessons for children, but he got the foundation of what lying is really about immediately. Accelerated absorption through 3D learning can’t be
beat! Keeping a lie ball around as a visual reminder
is a great idea, too.
For a fun story vignette, go to my website link where
you can find a 3 minute story with me in costume
for children to watch entitled, “The Lying Pirate.”
http://grandmaboom.com/the-lying-pirate/ With
preschool children I dress up in costume, become
a story such as the lying pirate, and have them all
hold a lie ball to figure out where they feel the lie
inside.
Instructions on making a Lie Ball:
Wad up aluminum foil (can be recycled as long
as it does not smell and is not gooey). Make
it approximately the size of a baseball. Get
round toothpicks, break them in half. Stick
the sharp end into the lie ball far enough that
it will stay. Do this all around the aluminum
ball so that it looks like a sputnik, similar to
the photo provided.
3D learning can be used with just about anything.
Find things in the environment and make analogies that can take children into their own inner
world. Make that bridge and help them use all their
senses. Help them to empower themselves. All kids
want to FEEL like a Superkid. Giving them tools
with 3D learning to know themselves with greater awareness gives them more options in making
choices that build confidence instead of promoting
self-destruction. 3D learning is an accelerated way
to teach and learn. And it’s fun to be creative while
creating more opportunities for savvy Superkids to
inhabit our precious planet!
The Superkid Power Guidebook is filled to
the brim with activities on 52 subjects to use
with children in teaching inner awareness
and self-help skills in FUN ways to empower them in grounded ways for building their
confidence and living more consciously. This
book is 40 years in the making and tested
with many children. A true gift to children,
it also enhances relationships of those who
use these techniques with the children being
shared with. Win-Win!
