It is important to understand that inflammation is a natural process, and is the body doing the best it can to deal with an external threat. The natural substances from which they were derived, 28 | NEW CONSCIOUSNESS REVIEW however, contain a range of cofactors that both enhance their effectiveness and eliminate to a great extent any side effects. Knowledge is the real gift in this book. Vasey gives an extensive list of plants, each with botanical a description, history of use, it’s properties and its indications. He explains which organs and conditions each plant is most effective for and exactly how to prepare and use it. This book is a wonderful reference to have on hand. One of the easiest messages to take away and to implement is the use of fish oil as a very potent anti-inflammatory. Omega-3 fatty acids are one of the most potent weapons in the anti-inflammatory arsenal. Dr. Vasey also talks about the benefits of hydrotherapy – the application of hot and cold compresses or showers or baths. It is so useful to be able to look up natural and inexpensive remedies that don’t leave a toxic calling card. This book is a wonderful addition to any home reference library.
