INSPIRATION HEALTH ARTICLE TRANSFORM THROUGH WRITING: How Writing Heals by MJ Schwader Writing is healing. It’s also a lot of other things: frustrating, emboldening, difficult, arduous, gratifying, and more. Most of all, it’s transformative, because no matter what emotions the writing process brings up for you, when you dive into it whole-heartedly to tell your story, you will come back to the surface with pearls of insight and growth, new perspectives, and ultimately, change. F or eighteen years I’ve been helping authors become published. At first it was a means to an end: write your manuscript and get it published. Within a year of starting writing coaching I discovered shamanism, and what started as a quest for personal healing from physical trauma after a car accident soon became an unraveling of my emotional and spiritual pain as well. As I learned, I began to use some of the techniques with my coaching clients, creating energy healing writing exercises that helped them channel their messages onto the paper. Soon, my authors began to see remarkable healing through the process of writing, unearthing deep truths and beliefs about themselves by writing for 56 | NEW CONSCIOUSNESS REVIEW others. As they wrote and rewrote their own stories, they began to see different truths, opening their hearts and their minds to what was possible.
