Church News Compiled by Bruce Henderson highlights from bryn athyn college Dr. Kristin King, President As we head into the 2013-14 academic year we are confident in the quality of our programs and student body and happy to see new developments unfolding. Admissions: We welcomed an incoming class of 101 students for fall term, a third of whom are from New Church backgrounds, primarily the Academy Secondary Schools. We are delighted with the quality and variety of our incoming students. Our senior class is the largest to date with 46 full-time students, and our junior class has 62 full-time students. We anticipated a total enrollment this fall of 255 students. New Hires: Dr. Marcy Latta is teaching Philosophy; Sarah Gardam joins the English and writing faculty; Sarah Wong joins the Education and Psychology departments. Jessica Bostock (dance), Edward Higgins (science), and Caira Bongers (mathematics) moved from associate (part-time) to core faculty. Kenneth Blair and Katharine Sparks (BAC graduates 2013) came on board in the spring as admissions counselors, along with Stephanie Walker, our assistant director in admissions. Aurelle Genzlinger is the new administrative assistant to the president. Jessica Carswell joins us as the Director of Institutional Advancement (aka Development). The advancement team (Kaye Lermitte, Sue Wright, Judy Lopacki and Hannah Lermitte) recently moved to spare offices in the Theological School, from which it will continue to serve the Academy Secondary Schools, the College and the General Church. Finances: We are on target with the goals and strategies in our 2011-16 strategic plan (see the College website, www.brynathyn.edu), and our financial plan is slightly ahead of schedule for reaching sustainability in 2017. 506
