beautiful – perhaps so beautiful that it’s
hard for us to believe that we’re capable
of becoming that. But it is a vision
of the New Church that the Lord is
creating now, in heaven and on earth.
It may be a long time before we
can really see it in this world; it may
be a long time before we can see it in
ourselves. But the Lord has given us this
vision so that we can have something
to hope in – so that we can know what
we’re waiting for, and striving for. And
He’s given us this vision so that we can
know where to begin.
We build the Lord’s New Church,
we become the woman clothed with
the sun, when we choose to keep His
commandments – when we do the will
of our Father in heaven. (cf. Matthew
7:21) It is our very simple decisions to
do what is right because we believe in the Lord that make room for the most
glorious things that He can create for us.
And He is yearning to create this church, yearning to make this vision
come to pass. “For Zion’s sake I will not hold My peace, and for Jerusalem’s
sake I will not rest, until her righteousness goes forth as brightness, and her
salvation as a lamp that burns.” (Isaiah 62:1)
Amen.
The vision of the woman
clothed with the sun
is incredibly beautiful
– perhaps so beautiful
that it’s hard for us
to believe that we’re
capable of becoming
that. But it is a vision of
the New Church that the
Lord is creating now, in
heaven and on earth.
