One way to get involved in the community is through the Retired & Senior Volunteer
Program (RSVP), America’s largest volunteer
network for people age 55 and over. Each
year some 525 local volunteers contribute
over 80,000 hours to nearly 75 community
and public agencies.
With RSVP, you choose the amount of
time you want to give, and you choose
whether you want to draw on your skills or
develop new ones. There is one-on-one
placement, or you can connect with other
active adults working on projects as a team.
Volunteers work with both the California
Highway Patrol and sheriff’s office are found
at the Nevada Country Food Bank, at nonprofit thrift stores, fostering animals from
the local shelter, and tutoring grade school
students.
