Introduction
The physical bricks and mortar, the pieces of
wood nailed together, the roof over your head
and the food in your stomach. These arbitrary
things are merely physical belongings.
Some tend to have more of these physical
belongings, and some have large elaborate
mansions filled with many of these belongings.
Some on the other hand might have nothing
more than a piece of cardboard beneath them,
and the cold cement. The important thing to
note here, is that a home is much separate
and different than a house. A house to a
home is like a pair of socks is to feet.
Some have many beautiful, expensive socks,
and some might not even have a pair. What
matters most is the feet, the many miles
those feet will walk, and the relationships
they will nurture. In the end home is more
about connections. A house is a collection of
things. A home is a collection of memories.
If you take anything away from this book,
please stop collecting things and start to
collect memories, adventures, questions and
answers, lessons, friendships, relationships,
and start to build your NEUE HEIMAT.
