Emtelle launches the world’s first all-in-one internal-to-
external pre-connectorised fibre cabling system
Emtelle has launched its Emtelle
HomeConnect solution – a pre-
connectorised cabling system that can
be installed for internal and external use,
allowing one solution to be used for both
install scenarios and bringing significant
installation time and cost savings to fibre
operators.
Designed to provide a quick and easy
one-stop-solution for internal/external
drop cable installations, the small and
flexible cable features a 3mm Low Fire
Hazard (LFH) sheath for internal use which
is covered by a slideable and adjustable
5mm PE sheath for external use. Emtelle
HomeConnect is the only solution on
the market to feature this slideable and
adjustable sheath and allow for such an
innovative design.
The solution, which comes pre-
terminated with an LC or SC connector at
the house end will reduce the specialist
skills and tools required by operators
deploying Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH)
connections, cutting the time and cost of
installations.
“As bandwidth-hungry applications
become commonplace in homes and
businesses, consumers’ appetites for
full fibre are growing, putting increasing
pressure on operators for which fibre
deployments can be expensive and time-
consuming,” said Jamie McGee, Product
Specialist at Emtelle. “This is exactly why
we have developed Emtelle HomeConnect
– to take away the complexity of fibre
installations and ensure operators can get
fibre as close as possible to the point of
consumption, easily and cost-effectively” n
Atlantic Hub: Major data centre project set for
development in Ireland’s North West
Atlantic Hub, has announced that it will develop a flagship IT
services and data centre with two mega-hub campus sites in
Ireland at Foyle Port Innovation Park and Letterkenny.
Each campus will offer world-class data centre services,
including up to Tier 4 standard, accommodating hyper-scale
operator demands for low development and operational costs,
and with a direct connection to North America. This is supported
by the GTT transatlantic fibre-optic submarine cable - the fastest
connectivity available between North America and Europe.
The strategically chosen locations take advantage of the natural
geographical advantages of a central time-zone for daily business
transactions with the USA, Europe and Asia, and the beneficial
local climate of Ireland’s North West. When this local climate
is combined with an innovative data hall cooling design that
optimises airflow management for cooling efficiencies.

The growing power demands of hyper-converged data centre
infrastructure require significantly higher power density in the
data hall, and Atlantic Hub is best placed to accommodate a
wide range of power densities up to 5kW per square metre and
accommodating 20kW per rack.
Atlantic Hub represents an eco-friendly sustainable data centre
development. Energy supply is sourced from 100% certified green
power, offering up to 300MW capacity that is integrated into the
national transmission system, through new 110kV transmission
substations. Each campus is powered by a HV power supply
system with built-in redundancy and N+1 grid transformer.
Atlantic Hub data centre campus presents the opportunity for
premier data centre operators to acquire fully serviced powered
development sites, data centre construction can commence
immediately to client preferred design. n
