Conectis and
Igor announce
partnership to
deliver advanced
smart building
solutions
US-based Igor and France-based Conectis have
announced a partnership to improve access
to industry-leading smart building technology
throughout Western Europe. Effective
immediately, Conectis customers can acquire
Nexos, Igor’s smart building platform. Conectis
will distribute Nexos as part of its Gigamedia IT
solution set.
Across nine European countries and regions
(France, Germany, Italy, the Nordics, Spain and
the UK), the total number of smart systems sold
will nearly triple between 2018 and 2022, to
reach over 8 million. The stock of smart buildings
in France alone is expected to reach 10 million
by 2022.
The relationship between Igor and Conectis
began in 2016 when leaders from both
companies met at a European trade show. In
anticipation of the European smart building
market rapid growth, Conectis executives were
searching for an IoT, PoE platform to offer its
expanding customer base.
“PoE will be the heart of smart building
infrastructure,” said Luc Debert, Conectis
business unit manager. “Over three years of
testing, we’ve discovered Igor’s platform carries
with it numerous advantages. Adding the Nexos
platform to our offering will help us deliver the
kind of advanced IoT technology our customers
are demanding.”
While most PoE-based solutions on the market
today focus solely on intelligent lighting, Nexos
has a robust reach that touches the entire smart
building ecosystem. Building managers can solve
a variety of problems from one platform. n
Brand-Rex Legal Entity to become
Leviton Manufacturing UK Limited
Leviton has recently announced that
the legal name of Brand-Rex Limited
has changed to Leviton Manufacturing
UK Limited. The other European
subsidiaries and branches have also
been renamed.
All current and new products,
product packaging and external-facing
documents will be branded solely as
Leviton. The Brand-Rex name will be
retained as a product brand for non-
data speciality cables used in extreme
environments such as aviation, defence
marine, mass transit, automotive and
other high-end industrial markets. The
Brand-Rex name maintains awareness
in these markets, and the products will
remain branded as Brand-Rex High-
Performance Cables.

In December 2015, Leviton acquired
Brand-Rex, joining together two cable
and network connectivity companies. In
2018, Brand-Rex adopted Leviton as its
trading name, however, the legal entity
remained as Brand-Rex Ltd.
Both Leviton and Brand-Rex share
a history of delivering state of the art
network infrastructure – Leviton for
110 years in more than 85 countries
and Brand-Rex for almost 70 years. By
joining forces under the Leviton name,
the two entities have pooled their
expertise and resources to form a single,
global provider, dedicated to delivering
innovative products with superior
quality and exceptional customer
service. n
