Strengthening
Established after the
network security
weaknesses of existing
with its extensive
networks were amplified
product portfolio
during the devastating events
of 9/ 11, the company realised
the desperate need for a robust and
accessible network which could provide
anywhere-anytime access to voice,
video and data communications.
Rajant recognises its specially
engineered Kinetic Mesh, to provide
assurance to industrial customers
offering a reliable and secure network
infrastructure. Deployed globally, the company says the technology offers a viable
solution to many deficiencies that have previously plagued other network offerings such
as interference conflicts, high latency and comprehensive security.
This continually operating network successfully establishes and sustains any-
node to any-node communication across hundreds of high-bandwidth nodes, running
on a ‘self-heal’ basis ensuring there is no single point of failure.
Developed with critical communication in mind, the company’s wireless nodes
deliver reliability, performance, scalability, security, and flexibility in an easy-to-deploy
and portable product. Rajant BreadCrumbs can be added to any pre-existing Wi-Fi or
Ethernet-connected device to deliver low-latency, high-throughput data, voice and
video applications across the network.
The extensive Rajant BreadCrumb series provides a network solution to suit a
multitude of business sizes and requirements. Rajant recommends premier solution,
the LX Series for building and expanding core infrastructure. The ME Series, as a mid-
level solution, ideal alternative for adding wireless infrastructure and mobile nodes into
existing networks. Rajant’s network management and monitoring tools, BC Commander
and BC Enterprise, help operators configure, monitor and control network activity
through intuitive software inter faces.
Products in action
With the increasing popularity of drones and automated technologies, Rajant has also
leveraged its powerful InstaMesh networking software. Announcing earlier this year
that Sharp Electronics Corporation (SEC) would be using its Kinetic Mesh technology
as the wireless communications infrastructure for the Sharp INTELLOS Automated
Unmanned Ground Vehicle (A-UGV). The company also announced a partnership with
Mitsui & Co. to jointly develop and market Rajant’s Kinetic Mesh wireless networks to
solve the advanced communications challenges of IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things),
drones, V2V (vehicle to vehicle), and other autonomous applications.
Rajant has also successfully deployed its Kinetic Mesh technology onto a drone
communication platform for use in a heavily populated area. Taking advantage of the
4.9 GHz public safety band, the drones allowed first responders to have a direct and
uninterrupted stream of communication for monitoring important public safety information.
Ruckus outperforms
other vendors
with new APs
Ruckus, wireless technology
innovator, has extended its range of
Access Points to include the Ruckus
R610 for dense device environments.
Designed to deliver a combination
of high-per formance and reliable
802.11ac wireless networking with
MU-MIMO (Multi-User Multiple-
Input Multiple-Output) capability,
MU-MIMO helps boost network
throughput by serving multiple
clients simul
A series of per formance tests,
validated by Divergent Dynamics,
measured the ability of five vendors’
mid-range access points (APs) to
stream video to between 30 and
60 clients. Carried out in a clean
RF environment, using industry-
standard test tools, the result
highlighted Ruckus to be one of the
only two vendors able to deliver
stall-free streaming to 60 clients
in an unloaded network scenario.
Interestingly, testing showed
Ruckus to be the only vendor able
to perform in every scenario, both
with and without simultaneous
network data loading.
Ruckus acknowledges stall-free
video streaming to be at the height
of its priorities, in this respect the
company claims that the new APs
R610 far surpasses the competition
through its ability to meet such
demands before, during and after the
data load. Boasting of the benefits,
Ruckus says testing demonstrated
the new appliance to be the only Wi-
Fi able to stand up to the challenge
of blazing fast wireless, available
immediately across multiple clients.
With multiple models available,
including the other AP’s such as
R510 and R720, a full indoor and
outdoor portfolio is readily available
on the wave 2.ac to tackle even the
most difficult requirements.
