ESSENTIAL SELECTION
Aten claims industry first with 4K dual-
view Thunderbolt 2 sharing device
Aten has launched the US7220, which the Taiwanese
company describes as the industry’s first 4K dual-view
Thunderbolt 2 sharing device.
As a dual-computer sharing station, it not only allows
users to effortlessly share hardware resources and digital
media at blazing speeds with two Thunderbolt 2-enabled
laptops/computers, but also to seamlessly switch between
the PCs at the push of a button.
The US7220 is designed for multitasking, with instant
switching, dual 4K display support and multiple device
connections.

R&M launches
new generation of
connection boxes for
fibre optic networks
R&M has launched a new generation of
sturdy and flexible connection boxes for
fibre optic networks. The Polaris-box 6 can
be used to supply single and multi dwelling
units, terraced houses and comparable
building complexes with fibre optics.
R&M product manager Patrick Schilter
says: ‘The new Polaris-box 6 from R&M is
an all-rounder. Its area of use ranges from
the building entry point on the facade or in
the basement through floor distributors to
power outlets in offices and apartments.
‘Network operators can set up both
point to point and point to multipoint
cabling with the compact FO distributor.’
The dust-tight and waterproof housing
with lift-up lid can accommodate up to 12 plug and up to
60 splice connections. There is also space for four
FMTS 1TPU splice trays or two 2TPU splitter trays.
During development, R&M says it set great
store by ensuring that the Polaris-box is suitable
for any outdoor use. The housing itself fulfills the
requirements of protection class IP67, R&M says.
Installation teams can add individually
required connection modules on site.
Fibre routing and configurations can be
modified and retrofitted at any time.
Stulz unveils
CyberRack heat
exchanger door
Stulz has expanded its product
portfolio for rack-based cooling
systems with the CyberRack
Active rear door.
The heat exchanger door
replaces the back panel of the
rack, and its compact design
enables the cooling of all ser ver
cabinets, including high-density
systems, directly inside the
data centre. The space in the
rack remains fully available for
IT equipment.

Two versions of this product
are available, with a cooling
capacity of 19 or 32kW. Up to
five EC fans ensure an optimum
airflow. Thanks to its individual
adapter frame, the CyberRack
can be installed in all commonly
available 19in cabinets. The
frame models are available in
heights of 42U and 48U, and
widths of 600mm and 800mm.
The cooling capacity of the
CyberRack is automatically
adapted to the heat load of the
servers. This is achieved either
directly through continuous
analysis of the measured
temperatures, or indirectly via
differential pressure control.
In this instance, the speed of
the CyberRack fans is adjusted
in line with the air flow of the
servers’ own fans.
