ESSENTIAL SELECTION
Universal appeal
Panduit has expanded
its Network Zone System
offering with the launch
of its new Universal
Network Zone System,
providing rapid and
reliable deployment
of Industrial Ethernet
networks between the
enterprise and plant
floor with maximum
design flexibility.
Engineered with Panduit
best practices and
meeting UL 508A, Type
4/12 or 4X, IP66 and CE,
the Universal Network
Zone System offers
improved network safety
and reliability.
The Universal Network Zone System provides customers with the ability to implement a
wide variety of switch and application requirements. The scalable and flexible building block
architecture solution saves installation time by including both copper and fibre connectivity, cable
management, grounding, and power with UPS and PoE options in a single enclosure.
In a market that is driving towards IT and OT convergence, users seek industrial network
zone solutions that are flexible and agile, reduce installation and implementation time, and
minimise risks, guesswork and uncertainty. These market drivers are offset by end users and
OEMs losing technical expertise to retirement and downsizing, no longer having the in-house
technical talent to do the system layout and design, select and purchase components, and install
and troubleshoot the system. Panduit’s Universal Network Zone System addresses these market
demands by providing scalable, pre-engineered, pre-designed and pre-packaged systems
that are suited to a wide variety of switches and cables; are equipped with cable management
systems logically designed for quick system connectivity and diagnostics, can be installed and
deployed safely, reliably and quickly by less experienced personnel; and address all appropriate
power, electrical and safety standards and certifications for a wide range of applications.

Wave machine
Xirrus has announced new four and eight radio
high density 802.11ac Wave 2 Wi-Fi access
points (APs). Xirrus offers a software defined
Wi-Fi solution that enables an all Wave 2
solution, which delivers up to eight times the
Wave 2 capacity per AP.
The new four radio XD and eight radio
XR high density Wave 2 solutions were
built specifically to address the connectivity
challenges that enterprises, educational
institutions and public venues face. Xirrus’
Wi-Fi solution provides a full suite of Wave 2
features, high performance and adaptive cloud
managed Wi-Fi solutions.
As new Wave 2 devices emerge in the
market, Wi-Fi networks must support these
new technologies without requiring a complete
network overhaul. According to a recent
report, 802.11ac Wave 2 Wi-Fi solutions will
become the highest shipping Wi-Fi standard in
the near future.
Xirrus XD and XR Wave 2 solutions provide:
Superior Wi-Fi experience – Full suite of
Wave 2 Wi-Fi features on all AP radios, each
capable of up to 3.47Gb/s and four-stream
multi-user MIMO (MU-MIMO).
Adaptive architecture – Software defined
solution works with existing infrastructure
and empowers one-click migration to a 100
per cent Wave 2 network when needed.
Flexible management – Cloud based or
on-premise Xirrus Management System
(XMS) offers zero touch provisioning and
integrated EasyPass access control at no
additional charge.
