Pentair announces new Schroff ServCite rack

Pentair has launched the Schroff ServCite rack , based on the highly efficient OCP ( Open Compute Project ) concept ; an industry-wide initiative for defining the specifications and designs for the most energy efficient , economical data centre possible .
The ServCite rack has also been developed specifically to meet the stringent requirements of the telecommunications industry for shock and vibration resistance , redundancy and reliable cooling capacity .
The new rack can accommodate ToR ( Top of Rack ) switches , a power supply unit with pluggable PSUs , a rack agent as well as shelves for CPU and memory plug-in units . The number of com pute and storage sleds in use can vary depending on the requirement .
Heat is dissipated from the components as a result of straight airflow from front to rear and optional backdoor cooling . This is more efficient and reduces the amount of space needed for redirecting air in the system . That space is then available for additional electronic components .
Furthermore , the ServCite rack follows a new redundancy and reliability concept . If a hard drive , processor or even a sled fails , the task is simply transferred to another server . Some functions such as the power supply , current conversion and switches still feature 100 per cent redundancy . Anritsu company introduces PIM Hunter test probe

Anritsu Company has introduced PIM Hunter , a passive intermodulation test probe that helps field technicians quickly discover the precise location of external PIM sources at cell sites . Designed for use with Anritsu ’ s PIM Master , Spectrum Master and BTS Master handheld analysers , the PIM Hunter test probe enables field professionals to use traditional interference hunting techniques to accurately locate external PIM sources for optimum wireless network performance . It is especially useful for detecting PIM on rooftops , the most common location for network densification in urban environments .
PIM Hunter has been custom designed to support external PIM identification over the 600MHz to 2,700MHz frequency range . With the PIM Hunter test probe connected to a spectrum analyser in burst detect mode and an appropriate band-pass filter installed , technicians can track and locate IM3 signal sources that cause PIM . When the probe tip is near a source , the PIM value increases by as much as 30dB , indicating the precise location of the interferer .
Unlike traditional near field probes , the PIM Hunter utilises patent pending technology to return a consistent signal level regardless of probe orientation with respect to the PIM source . A 35 inch extension shaft allows the test operator to remain a safe distance away from antennas under test . For further information visit : www . anritsu . com

Molex introduces IP67 Brad HarshIO EtherNet / IP modules for roller drives

Molex has introduced an ODVA conformance tested and approved IP67 EtherNet / IP I / O module to interface with roller drives . The space saving Brad HarshIO modules are machine mountable to connect industrial controllers to roller drives directly , even in the toughest environments . Interfacing with up to four roller drives makes the modules an economical choice for conveyor applications .
Featuring an IP67 rated housing , the HarshIO modules provide protection against the ingress of dust and liquid in high vibration environments . Machine mounting saves on cabinet space and reduces wiring costs in the field . An integrated two-port switch with 100Mbps delivers full duplex data transmission and enables a daisy-chain wiring topology for additional cost savings . The Molex patented Ultra-Lock push-to-lock connection system delivers further time saving benefits for reliable IP67 sealed connection of cordsets during commissioning . The HarshIO module supports eight digital inputs , four digital outputs and four analogue outputs controlling the speed of the drive . Featuring built-in protection to help prevent short circuit and current overload events , the modules also come equipped with diagnostic LEDs for visual feedback on network , power and I / O status .
