CABLE MANAGEMENT & LABELLING
an ideal opportunity for us to test the new Marco accessory as we were using a lot of the steel wire cable tray throughout the vast building and timing was undoubtedly a factor for us . Steve Davis at Marco had explained how the new Quick-Clik wire tray would couple together within seconds and we wanted to see if it really could help us meet our objectives , particularly in terms of time saving .’
The Quik-Clik system comprises a length of tray with the new MCFJC accessory preattached as standard , allowing for faster on-site installation . Designed to be flexible , the Quik- Clik system can easily be removed and re-attached if required , retaining its usability when cutting lengths down to size . Another key feature of the Quik-Clik system is in its design , its Quik-Clik
installation ensures a strong and secure fit , whilst also maintaining earth continuity , and negates the use of additional mechanical parts , tools or the need for nuts and bolts .
Available in two depths , 55mm and 106mm , the product comes in electro-zinc or pre-galvanised finish , with JM Hazel opting for the 55mm finish in electro-zinc .
Mr George continued : ‘ We have used Marco products for some time and so our guys on site are used to working with both the steel wire cable tray and uPVC trunking ranges . The introduction of new accessories and different ways of working can be slightly more challenging as our electricians become used to certain ways of working that are often considered tried and tested methods .
‘ We took the decision to use the new Quik-Clik throughout and so it was used as part of the install from the outset . Having the accessory pre-attached was a definite asset to the team and negated the need for an initial fixing . The simplicity of the accessory soon became apparent as only one quick fix was needed to attached two three metre lengths of wire tray . The guys on site quickly adapted to the speed of the accessory pre-attached to the wire tray allowing a quicker install .
‘ Both myself and the site team found the pre-fitted coupler a definite benefit and is something that we would look at introducing into our specification at other projects . For us , and many other contractors , there is a growing need to complete jobs in faster time frames , at tighter costs , yet retaining the quality of install and workmanship . We have to look around and see how the manufacturers can help us achieve this . Although the electrical contracting industry is a traditional one , even the most committed traditionalist must recognise the benefits in using a wire tray such as this .’
The Quik-Clik system is a great little add on to Marco ’ s fantastic steel wire cable tray range and one that we ’ ll certainly embrace . It ’ s great to see a manufacturer that is so committed and in tune with meeting the needs of its

customers . Using products such as this can help save time and money , which are key objectives in terms of our own customers ’ expectations .
It ’ s great to have direct feedback from our customers in terms of how they view our products , how they use and apply them and how they perform . The Quik-Clik wire tray has undoubtedly worked really well here at Brush Hill and the team at JM Hazel has embraced this system from the outset .
Contractors continue to utilise our quick-fit accessories that negate the use of traditional nut and bolt systems in a clear shift away from tried and tested methods . Our industry is being forced to embrace change and it is our responsibility to help them make the shift by developing products that fit comfortably into their day to day roles . We are a nation of increasingly savvy switched on construction professionals who are keen to explore new technologies that will support and enhance work on site . We believe that Quik- Clik has huge scope in a modern contracting environment .
