The year 2020 started with the fruitful second High-Level Meeting of the Network that took place in Doha in February . As it later turned out , the meeting was one of the last in-person events happening in 2020 due to the global pandemic .
The High-Level Meeting , hosted by the Chief Justice and the Supreme Judiciary Council of the State of Qatar , gathered over 700 participants from 118 countries and 50 judicial associations and organizations , including 37 Chief Justices . The level of attendance even exceeded the Network ’ s high-level launch in April 2018 , which at that time represented the largest gathering of judges ever assembled under the auspices of the United Nations .
The meeting provided a valuable opportunity to take stock of the Network ’ s achievements since its launch and discuss various pertinent judicial integrity-related topics , including the use of social media , gender-related issues and the use of artificial intelligence . Several knowledge products and tools of the Network were officially launched during the meeting , namely the Judicial Ethics Training Tools ; the Guidelines on the Use of Social Media ; the Guide on How to Develop Codes of Judicial Conduct ; and the Paper on Gender-Related Judicial Integrity Issues . The meeting also created a space to identify new priority areas for the 2020-2021 workplan of the Network , as manifested in the Doha Declaration on Judicial Integrity that was adopted by the participants at the meeting .
