2020 has not been a year for face-to-face meetings . To address this challenge , the Network launched a webinar series that has been running throughout the year with the aim of raising awareness and promoting dialogue on various key judicial integrity-related challenges . Moreover , the Network has held and / or supported numerous other online events .

In total , nine webinars were held in 2020 . To promote multilingualism , some of the webinars were held in languages other than English , including Portuguese and Spanish . Overall , 1,200 participants have attended the webinars , with 130 attending each session on average . Some of the topics covered by the webinars include : the use of artificial intelligence in the administration of justice ; the investigation of judicial misconduct ; eliminating gender biases and stereotyping during adjudication processes ; judicial independence and integrity during the pandemic ; and the existing challenges and practices concerning financial disclosures by judges .
The Network has hosted other online events , including a special , dynamic meeting for judicial associations and partner institutions of the Network that took place in the format of a fireside chat in October . Around 25 associations and institutions participated in the meeting and discussed good practices in response to emerging challenges to judicial integrity and COVID-19 . In October , together with the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Independence of Judges and Lawyers , the Network held a side event at the 10th session of the Conference of Parties to the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime on exploring the effects of organized crime and corruption on judicial integrity and independence . In December , the Network held a workshop at the 19th International Anti-Corruption Conference on the topic of transparency techniques to strengthen resilience of judiciaries .
