INTENSIVE NETBALL ACADEMY TRAINING CENTRES (INTCs)
There are 3 INTCs nationally. These are based in Bath, Manchester and London. INTCs are designed to provide the highest quality coached training and supervised Strength and Conditioning programmes for England Senior and U21 athletes. They operate daily, all year round and provide the wrap-around support that athletes require e.g. on-site physiotherapy, performance lifestyle and medical services.
NATIONAL ACADEMY
There is just one National Academy which delivers monthly training weekends, a Summer camp, East Camp for U19 and U17 England Long-Squad athletes (these are players who show the potential to play for England and who will be selected for competitions). All of the athletes in the National Academy are also in a Regional Performance Academy or Regional Academy too. The National Academy provides a top-up of high quality coached training and supervised Strength and Conditioning for its athletes, delivered by a National Academy Coach, National Academy Assistant Coach, Technical Coaches and the England Sports Science and Medicine Teams.
REGIONAL PERFORMANCE ACADEMY (RPA)
There is one Regional Performance Academy in each of the 9 regions in England. These deliver up to 10 hours a week of training, all year round. Each Regional Performance Academy provides high quality coached training for 20 athletes aged U19 (some of whom will be U19/U17 England Long-Squad athletes and will also attend the National Academy). The Regional Performance Academy training programme is set by the National Academy Head Coach and National Academy Strength and Conditioning Coach and delivered by an England Netball Performance Pathway Coach.
REGIONAL ACADEMY (RA)
There are 18 Regional Academies across the country, delivering up to 8 hours per week, all year round. Each Regional Academy provides high quality coached training for 20 athletes aged U17 (some of whom may be U17 England Squad athletes and will also attend the National Academy) delivered by an England Netball Performance Pathway Coach.
COUNTY ACADEMY
There are about 70 County Academies across the country delivering one session per week for 30 weeks per year. The County Academies provide quality coached training for approximately 20 athletes aged U16. The athlete training programmes are set by England Netball Coaches and the Sports Science and Medicine team and are delivered by local Level 2 qualified Coaches.
SATELLITE/DEVELOPMENT SATELLITE ACADEMY
There are 4 satellite/development satellite academies being delivered in Dorset (Bournemouth/Poole/Blandford/Weymouth). The Satellite Academies provide basic individualised training for approximately 20 athletes aged between 11 and 14 (or slightly older if they are new to the Performance Pathway). The athlete training programmes are delivered by local Level 2 qualified Coaches.
