H EBERT DESIGN BUILD RECENTLY completed a kitchen renovation for a family of four who needed more space and modern upgrades . The original kitchen was small , closed off and outdated , with dark cherry cabinets and older appliances . Working closely with the homeowner , the company designed an addition to expand the home ’ s footprint in two directions at the corner of the house .
The new kitchen boasts a three-by-twelve-inch Opal Snow tile backsplash behind the stovetop , sink and wet bar . White Brookhaven cabinetry and HanStone Montauk quartz countertops brighten the space while offering plenty of storage and work surfaces . The large island with seating provides contrast to the abundance of white with its iron-gray finish and is complemented by the warm , wood accents and new quarter- and rift-sawn oak flooring that extends through the living room and entryway .

Superior Design + Master Craftsmanship
The reconstructed walls include new , natural Douglas fir Andersen windows , and the sliding doors were relocated from the living room to bring in lots of natural light . The original walls separating the kitchen and living room were opened to allow space for a large dining table .
For the exterior , the builder matched the existing stone veneer on the foundation , and the extended roof ties into the existing porch and wraps around the side of the house . The new sliding doors in the kitchen lead out to a new deck that overlooks a scenic , woodsy backyard .
The result of this renovation project is a modern , open kitchen with ample space for cooking and entertaining . The space has a bright , welcoming atmosphere and ties seamlessly into this family ’ s home and lifestyle .
