FROM THE DESIGNER : “ It ’ s the simple elegance of this light-filled room , range of earthy textures , natural elements and brushed metals that define and distinguish it as one I love . The previous homeowner had a penchant for mustard and reds , so this new space is a welcoming tack in the right direction . From the foyer , this room makes a candid first impression of the whole home , one that truly reflects the client ’ s tasteful and sophisticated sense of style carried throughout the home . The lightly textured , stain- and fade-resistant fabrics save their crisp , neutral colors void of little paw prints from the dogs who nap there . The vintage English walnut console and footstools provide interest in an otherwise empty space . The sculptural elements are present in the lighting , window treatments , decor and lines of the furnishings . It ’ s a timeless juxtaposition of old and new .”
