FROM THE DESIGNER : “ This room was previously used as a living room , so we not only changed the décor , but also the use of the space . This home is new to this family , and this is just one room in this home where I helped the clients . We ’ ve slowly been going through the entire house making it more ‘ theirs .’ The clients wanted a dining room setting but wanted a more casual feeling . The room is right off the kitchen , and we wanted to be sure it flowed nicely with what we ’ d done in there . We used all neutrals — grays , beiges , blacks — allowing the main interest here to be the mix of textures and different scales of patterns : printed grass cloth wallpaper , textured / patterned fabrics on window treatments , cane back on chairs , metal table base and lighting fixtures .”
